Walking past a green park with the Beijing Bandit, she suggested taking a photo of me there and posting it on QQ (China's then-equivalent of Facebook), which she did. Until then, it hadn't occurred to me that China has a sizeable homosexual population; suddenly, many were interested in the foreigner standing in the park. As you might imagine, the Beijing Bandit receives a sizeable mention in my book.

A Human Zoo: Zhengzhou, 2006. An exhibit showcased an indigenous tribe from Myanmar, featuring around twenty performers. They presented several cultural shows daily, offering quite a cultural eye-opener on several levels.

Art Gallery Opening

A tall, beautiful young girl, employed for the opening of a art exhibition. She has the typical appearance of a KTV hostess, but given the time of day, they would be asleep.

I only took one photo in the exhibition. I never developed a taste for traditional Chinese art, having adapted quickly to the people, food, and beer. But I never grew tired of the "monkey" metaphor so prevalent in China. My Friend sometimes refers to someone "like a monkey, scooping the image of the moon from the surface of a pond".
